Loading 308 Winchester on a stormy day
Переглядів 1213 роки тому
I picked up a box of fired Sig Sauer .308 Winchester brass at the range, decided to reload them today, after all it is storming outside and nothing else to do. I load on a Lee Classic Turret using Lee 4 die set, Lyman 1200 DPS3 powder scale, Winchester 748 powder, Federal 210 Large Rifle primers, trim the brass, prime, charge, seat bullet then factory crimp them and finally checked with a Lyman...
A22 Standard Model
Переглядів 743 роки тому
Sighted in the Savage A22 base model, at 25yrds it shot 3 inches high at the lowest setting. I did not have a spare scope to install but I had a Vortex Venom not in use so I mounted it and sighted the red dot in. As test shows it still needs slight adjustment but my goal was accuracy, functionality with different ammunition. I tried CCI Mini Mags 36gr HPs, CCI Standard Velocity 40gr solids, Rem...

Taurus XT22 Straight From Box To The Range

I purchased this Taurus XT22 and carried it straight to the range after selecting some different ammunition. I did not clean the weapon, straight from the box, this pistol functioned flawlessly with all ammunition sampled. I even shot a mixed batch picked up off the ground.

223 Rem Reloading Process Part 02

I have done other videos on loading the 223 Rem but I have seen several videos & Facebook Post about issues with the Lee Classic Turret where people have indexing issues. I show somethings that I have run across. Once brass is deprimmed, swaged and cleaned I go through the steps of reloading I use after lubing the cases. 1. Sizing 2. Trimming 3. Priming 4. Charging 5. Seating 6. Factory Crimp Die

The Remington shot as well in the Savage buy not so good in many other rifles. A fellow needs to see what ammo his guns like and write it down. Not all guns will shoot all ammo. Take it from a 70 year old who has been plinking heavily his whole life. And Keep on Plinking !

You are right, these things are great shooting guns and for the money you can't beat it. I'm not a Taurus fan but I love the TX22. I've put close to 5k thru mine and it's still functioning perfect. Me and my grandson shoot it along with a 10/22 almost every weekend with no problems.

My slide would not break loose, even with the takedown lever lowered. Others have complained of the same problem with new pistols. If you've followed all the other steps and the slide won't budge, give it a good whack from the rear to the front, while holding the takedown lever down. That should get the slide loose and then you can proceed as normal.

Winchester Super X is absolute trash!!! Only round that always has issues in my Ruger SR22, Heritage Wrangler, M&P 22AR, etc. Yes, I said Heritage Single Action Revolver, no slide to rack basic as the day long, still cannot get 10 clean shots. For sub-sonic not to rack a slide on a less than $400 pistol is totally within reason. For a round not to fire in a single action pistol or basic $200 kids rifle is trash........That is SuperX.......Trash. 22 rimfire is dirty and garbage by design, but many are still reliable. CCI 22AR Tactical 300rd box(Flawless) Aquilla all types(Near Flawless) Remington Thunderbolt(Near Flawless) Just bought a TX22 today, loaded 3 mags with SuperX.....we'll see if it eats it. If it does, ill go buy 2 more TX22's for non gun folk that happen to be at my cabin.

Agree with boomstick 779 comment, 25 yds was OK, but 50 to 75 yds would have been a better choice for an ammo comparison. AM glad you demoed a Savage A22 thumbhole in your video as I'm looking at that particular rifle as a base 'class' one for NRL22 competition. Your video reinforced my choice that a Savage A22 Thumhole would be a fine choice for me. I prefer semi- autos (over bolt actions) as the way to go for me.

I hate my TX. I just got it last week. I was so excited. I figured it would be a cheap fun shot. I Shot it for the first time tonight. The very first round jammed. The mag won’t fire past 10 rounds before it jams. It came w two mags and both mags stop firing at the same point. The springs suck. I’m incredibly displeased with the gun.

I’m sorry for the late reply I would send that weapon back to Taurus They will make good on their products. You must have gotten the only dud.

Same. Brand new gun, took it home and cleaned it. Went to the range and with every mag there's at least one jam. I put about 300 rounds through it. Ammo is Browning BPR 40 grain. I'll try a different ammo tomorrow and see what happens.

I just got mine 2 days ago and yesterday i put the following ammo through it with only 2 small hiccups that were light primer strikes. I reloaded them and they both went bang on the second try. All rounds were shot suppressed and i would say i put a total of 200-300 rounds. I shot 40gr Rem thunderbolt, Rem golden bullets, CCI 40gr standard velocity, CCI 45gr suppressor, Aguila 40gr Standard Velocity and all of them functioned perfectly other than the 2 light primer strikes and you could tell they were light and could have been due to the gun getting dirty from running suppressed. I have a few other types of ammo i plan to test out but so far i am impressed with this gun

***UPDATE*** ...it was this video or another where it states the gun can only take very light lube. So I cleaned it again and used just a dab of lube. Disassembled the mags and lightly lubed them as well. It shot everything I put in it after that with no FTF issues.
